Kind Seas is a studio + shop located on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean in the town of Bonavista, in Newfoundland. It is a space where you can come to take pause, and be inspired by meaningful handmade works that will recall your time spent by the sea.

Bonavista Rock rings

Bonavista Rock Rings are classic silver band rings with rich, rock-like textures created by hammering metal against rocks in Bonvista, NL. With each tap of a hammer, the metal is imprinted by the rugged, gritty textures of rocks, almost like a stamp of time and place. In this way, no two rings are exactly alike, bearing unique traces of where they were made along the rocky coast of Bonavista.

Lichen Collection

Even in some of the most barren landscapes in Newfoundland, there can be found such an abundance of mosses and lichens. They adorn rocks, and fill crevices with multitudes of tiny, delicate forms. There is so much inspiration here, if you look close. The Lichen Collection emerged from taking pause to observe the wondrous shapes and textures of these organisms that thrive in harsh, coastal landscapes.

Iceberg Collection

The Iceberg Collection is inspired by the ever-anticipated spotting of icebergs off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador every spring. The pieces in this collection feature gritty textures made by imprinting molten silver with actual rocks from Bonavista. A shimmering horizontal bar cuts through the centre of the iceberg forms to highlight the separation of water and sky, between what is visible and what is concealed by the ocean.
